Congratulations to Our High School Students of the Month for March!

Congratulations to Our Middle School Students of the Month for March!

Mr. Wendlandt's 7th grade reading students are working on writing using a variety of text structures such as descriptive, compare and contrast, problem/solution, cause and effect, and sequential order!

Congrats to Corbin Guggisberg and Luca Greenig on being selected for the ACDA-MN State 7-8 CTB Honor Choir! They were selected as two of Minnesota’s outstanding young choral musicians from hundreds of applications. Well done, Corbin and Luca!

Students in Physical Science are summarizing what they have learned about forces and how they cause motion.

Middle School Students of the Month for February

Students in Chemistry were predicting the products of chemical reactions. Different tests (such as the flaming splint test) were done to identify chemicals produced and check their predictions.

Students in physical science were exploring motion by using ultrasonic motion detectors and Logger Pro lab tools to graph the motion of manipulated objects. Students worked to understand how movement in one dimension can be graphed.

Students in physical science were using pH strips to determine the pH of common household items, calculating pOH, and predicting properties of those items based on their acidity or alkalinity.

Celebrating LS-H Seniors! Class of 2022!

Mr. May’s PE classes are enjoying skating at the Community Center!

Students in physical science were observing the chemical reactions of chemical equations that they were balancing!

AVID 9 students completed an Expository Writing Unit where they created board games based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. They then took a class period to play another classmate's game.

Accel. Algebra test their Barbie Bungee cord predictions today.

Accel. Algebra students use data collected to write an equation that can be used to predict how many rubber bands to add to Barbie's bungee cord to make it thrilling yet safe.

Le Sueur-Henderson Jr. High Knowledge Bowlers competed in the sub-regional meet at Minnesota State University- Mankato today. Placing 13 out of 48 qualifies them for the Regional meet next Monday. Congratulations to these students for representing the LSH community so well!

8th Grade Accel. Algebra students are modeling Barbie bungee jumping. The data they collect will be used to write a mathematical equation to predict how many rubber bands are needed to fall a specified distance.

Students in physical science are investigating the properties of ionic compounds so they can compare those properties with the observed properties of covalent compounds.

Students in Chemistry are exploring alloys by making a "Silver" and "Gold" penny.

Students in Chemistry are using their creativity through stop-motion animation to show what they know about the formation of ions and ionic compounds!
