Immunizations

Immunizations

Parent/guardians are required to provide the school with proof of immunizations and update immunizations in accordance with Minnesota law (MN Statute 121A.15). A parent/guardian may choose to provide the school with a signed, notarized conscientious exemption in lieu of immunizations. The following immunizations are required prior to entrance in Kindergarten:

  • 5 doses of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTaP);
  • 4 doses of polio;
  • 2 doses of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR);
  • 3 doses of Hepatitis B; and
  • 2 doses of varicella (chicken pox).

Prior to entrance into 7th grade a tetanus booster and meningococcal (Meningitis) vaccines are required. New requirements will be in effect beginning September 1, 2014 for Early Childhood. (See new requirements – Are Your Kids Ready?). Transfer students into the district have 30 days to provide proof of immunization compliance. A student will not be allowed to remain in school unless immunizations are up to date. (MN law)
